Remove the top of your box. Using a pencil, draw a large square at the bottom of the box. With scissors, cut out the square at the bottom.
Next, take the tracing paper. Tape each side of the tracing paper into the bottom of the box. You want the paper to cover the empty square. This is your theater!
Set a lamp or flashlight behind the theater. Turn it on so that the light hits the tracing paper. To add a bit of color, try holding up different colored cellophane wrap!
To make your puppets, cut out the figures on the next page. Next, take a skewer and tape it to the back of each puppet.
Hold your puppets behind the tracing paper. It’s time to make your play! Your audience will be able to see the shadows dance across the screen.
*Tip: Use a bigger cardboard box to make an even bigger theater!
