Raised in the Bavarian countryside, King Ludwig II, also known as ‘Mad’ King Ludwig, grew up inspired by his surroundings and fairy tales. He ended up creating one of the most iconic castles in history, inspiration for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.
