A Letter for Young Historians

My, how the time has flown by! I can’t believe we have the privilege of celebrating our two year anniversary with this issue!

To start off, I wanted to introduce myself to those that might be new to the magazine. My name is Brooke and I am the co-founder and editor-in-chief of the magazine. Together with my husband, David, and our amazing historian, Heidi, we make up the Honest History team.

We started the magazine because we wanted to provide a way for kids to learn about important moments in history that you might not always find in a textbook. While some of our topics are more well known, our goal is to help young historians explore new parts of the world that you might not learn about in school.

We have been working hard to decide the topic of our next few issues and we are very excited to share those topics with you, our young historians! Without giving away too many details or the exact topics of future issues, here are some of the countries, regions, and people groups you will be reading about in upcoming issues (listed in no particular order): North Africa, Turkey, Central and South America, as well as the history of Native Americans and First Nation people.

We can’t wait for all that this new year has to offer and we look forward to having you along for the ride. As always, please write to us and let us know if you have any suggestions on topics you would like to learn more about. We’d love to hear from you!

Cheers,
