PIGEONS
These birds have been used since the earliest days of espionage to send secret messages. During WWI, agents even attached cameras to pigeons so they could get a better view of what their enemies were up to. Animals have played an important role in the history of espionage—from birds to cats, and even dolphins—animals have been spies’ partners in crime.
SUITCASE RADIO
The spy Virginia Hall used this hidden radio to send messages in Morse Code to the Allied forces during WWII. She had to generate electricity to get the radio started. To do this, she attached the radio to a bike frame connected to a car battery and started pedaling.
BUTTONHOLE CAMERAS
A camera is one of the most important gadgets a spy could have. They are essential for gathering evidence. These tiny cameras can be hidden in almost anything from neckties to hairbrushes, and even disguised as a button on a coat.
SHOES WITH SECRET COMPARTMENTS
Want to step into the shoes of a secret agent? For years, spies have been hiding tools, messages, and even microphones inside their shoes. Secret compartments can be created under the insole of the shoes or inside its heel.
