Hi, Young Historians!

I can’t believe we are on our 18th issue already! My, how time has flown by!
As you may have already guessed, I’m really excited to share this new magazine with you. We were incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work with two amazing advisors who helped make this issue come to life. Collaborating with advisors is valuable to us for several reasons. By teaming up with experts in the field who study or teach history for a living, it helps us make sure that we are giving you the most accurate and up-to-date information. Our advisors also aid us in ensuring that we are covering the most important topics because, as you know, we can’t teach an entire country’s or empire’s history in a few dozen pages!

For this issue, I would like to give special thanks to Professor Kent Schull for being our amazing advisor and to Professor Christine Isom-Verhaaren for writing the incredible story about Mihrimah.

As for you, dear readers, I hope you come away from this issue with a sense of awe and wonder. The Ottomans were truly amazing, an empire we can learn from to this day. And if you’ve been a subscriber with us for a while, then you know that we always encourage our readers to go out and learn more about the topics that interest them. Maybe one of these stories will encourage you to become an architect or a historian of Ottoman history! No matter where life takes you, I hope you enjoy this little journey through time and learn something new and exciting!

Happy reading!

Cheers,
