Do you have any siblings?
I have three siblings. I have an older sister, an older brother, and a younger sister who is a dog named Lulu (I treat her like a human).

What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I grow up, I want to be an ... I’m not sure. Many things.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to play with my sister, play Minecraft, watch TV, and eat popsicles.

What is your favorite thing to study in school?
Science and my reading group. And art too. I basically love it all!

My favorite thing to read is:
My favorite book is Holes , and I love Honest History ! My favorite is Issue 6. Who doesn’t love spies?!

If you could live in the past or the future, which would you choose?
I would live in the past, in ancient Egypt. I could meet Pharaohs and search for ancient artifacts and solve unsolved mysteries. Hopefully, I could bring back artifacts to the present.

What is your favorite time period?
My favorite time period right now is ancient Egypt.

Why do you think it’s important to study history?
Because history is fascinating and you learn things you probably didn’t know. You can learn how to handle things in the future if you look at the past.

Is there a topic or subject you think Honest History should cover? If so, what?
Ancient Egypt. And the history of how dogs evolved.

What is one fun thing you’ve learned from reading Honest History ?
In the ancient Rome issue, I really loved learning about the busyness of ancient Rome. The houses that rich people lived in sound so luxurious, but the poor people’s houses sound like the worst of the worst.

I have two older sisters, Emilie (16) and Kate (13). I am the youngest.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be two things when I grow up. A US Marine and a history teacher.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to play Nerf guns, video games, go to the beach, play street hockey, and read.

What is your favorite thing to study in school?
My favorite thing to study in school is social studies because it has history that is included with it, and I like history a lot.

My favorite thing to read is:
I like to read a lot. I like war history books such as Guts & Glory: World War II , and Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales . I also like Rick Riordan books such as The Heroes of Olympus series.

If you could live in the past or the future, which would you choose?
Past because then I could meet some of my favorite musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and John Fogerty.

What is your favorite time period?
My favorite time period is the 1960s because the music from then is awesome, and also I like learning about the Vietnam War.

Why do you think it’s important to study history?
It’s important to study history because world leaders, or anyone, for that matter, can learn from past people’s mistakes and their triumphs.

Is there a topic or subject you think Honest History should cover? If so, what?
Personally, I think the Vietnam War. There are some cool things to learn about such as the Viet Cong’s booby traps and their guerilla warfare tactics.
