How would you tell your history? In the early 2000s, over 100 Xhosa women from Hamburg and the Eastern Cape began hand-stitching the story of the region into a beautiful work of art. This very long tapestry is known as the Keiskamma Tapestry. It starts with the animals and plants that inhabited the land and follows the history of South Africa up until 1994. Today, the tapestry hangs in the Parliament buildings in Cape Town.
