Greetings, Young Historians,
In this edition of Honest History, we are traveling back in time to visit a very important island—Ireland!
Situated in the Atlantic Ocean, Ireland plays an important role in Europe’s history. From Vikings and scribes to revolutionaries, we do our best to cover the most fascinating parts of Irish history.
As you flip through, many of you might wonder, “Why didn’t they talk about the Irish potato famine?”
Don’t worry, we didn’t forget!
The potato famine is a major part of Ireland’s past, but Irish history has so much more to offer than just this tragedy. We wanted to highlight untold stories. So, while there may only be a mention or two of a potato in this issue, you can always learn more about the famine by visiting your local library.
As always, I hope you enjoy this edition of the magazine!
Happy reading,
Brooke Knight
